Admissions Policy

RTCS accepts students who have successfully completed the application process and are academically able to function in a normal classroom setting.  The School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin.

Admission to kindergarten and first grade requires that the student be five (5) or six (6) years of age respectively by September 1 of that academic year.  The school Health Immunization Regulation known as Article 10 (1983) requires that the immunization status of every child is to be ascertained prior to admission to school or continued attendance at school.

Parents who wish to begin the process to enroll their child in RTCS should follow these steps in the order given:

  • The parents must submit a completed, signed application together with a non-refundable $150.00 application fee.
  • Prospective students will be evaluated prior to enrollment.  The evaluation process may include interviews with members of our administrative staff or teaching faculty, placement testing, and a review of any prior academic or disciplinary records.
  • Parents of prospective students are required to meet with representatives of the Education Committee or Board of Directors prior to admission.  The purpose of this meeting is to review the school's policies and curricul and to provide parents an opportunity to ask questions about RTCS.
  • The RTCS Board of Directors must vote to accept the Education Committee's recommendation to receive the child as a student.

Transfer Students

The following guidelines will be used to determine if a transfer student is to be considered for admission at Robinson Township Christian School:

  • A record of school performance absent of suspensions and/or expulsions
  • Prior academic performance (a grade average of C- or better)
  • Preparedness for the next level of work
  • Constructive attitude toward the School and what it seeks to accomplish
  • Emotional stability
  • Financial obligations are satisfactorily met with former private school

If the above guidelines are satisfied:
  • Students in grades 9 through 12 will be invited to visit the School for a day and will interview with the Principal.
  • Students in grades 1 through 8 will be scheduled for a placement test.
  • The School will arrange for a parent interview after receipt of the application and all other guidelines are met.

Please keep in mind that Board approval is necessary before any child will be admitted to RTCS.

Invitation to Return

During the month of March, the Faculty, in consultation with the Principal, shall determine students that will be invited to return to Robinson Township Christian School the following fall.  It is also a time when some students are either recommended to be placed on probation for the remainder of the academic year or recommended not to return to Robinson Township Christian School after school closes in June.

The following guidelines will be used to determine if a student should return:

  • Academic performance
  • A cooperative spirit with regard to personal conduct
  • Constructive attitudes toward the School and what it seeks to accomplish
  • Emotional stability
  • Preparedness for the next level of work
  • Respect for authority
  • Obedience

If a student shows a consistent lack of interest in his/her work or an unwillingness to cooperate with staff, he may be refused reenrollment.  In some cases, the student may be allowed to reenroll provisionally.  Provisional reenrollment means that the student will be dismissed immediately and permanently if the problem is not resolved.
